The seminar brings to attention the theme of domestic space rethought as a collaborative space for sharing everyday life, between people who are not necessarily related to each other. Starting from the assumption that the imbalance between the sexes in the performance of domestic work is one of the main causes of gender inequalities, and that it is precisely the isolation of families in their homes that can be seen as a condition that fosters this type of subjection, the meeting will try to recount the home as a place capable of hosting collective forms of reproduction, as the centre of a collective life; a life traversed by different people and forms of cooperation, capable of granting intimate space (a room of one’s own) without isolating.
